Director

SPM account directors have a deep understanding of all facets of PR, influencer, crisis communications and media relations, are a part of the agency’s leadership team, provide strategy counsel for several clients at a time and coach and motivate account teams.

ACCOUNT SUPERVISOR

SPM account supervisors organize, manage and lead account teams and projects, PR strategy, planning and budgeting.

As the primary client contact, candidates should have outstanding account service and communication skills and a deep understanding of integrated communications.

Other key job functions include the development and execution of client PR plans, crisis communications, influencer strategy and media relations.

SENIOR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

We are looking for someone with ideally four or more years’ PR experience, including agency experience, to help run accounts, serve as a day-to-day client contact and help develop and execute PR plans.

At SPM, our SAEs are at the critical juncture of doing, leading and learning. They have the opportunity to serve a main client contact while also providing strategy and counsel. They also assist in the development and execution of client PR plans, have exposure to editorial and crisis communications training and are encouraged to bring new ideas to the agency and its clients.  

Work includes media relations, writing, account organization and management, PR strategy/planning and industry research. Influencer strategy and execution is a huge plus.  

SAEs also have supervisory roles on account teams, overseeing assistant account/account executives and interns. 

Our wish list for our next SAE includes: 

  • Previous PR agency experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism or a related field from a four-year accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of four years’ PR experience Past management experience, agency experience and background in retail, restaurant or food PR is preferred. 
  • Well-versed in AP style and familiar with PR measurement and research tools.

PR APPRENTICE

Seeking candidates with previous communications internship experience for the SPM Communications Apprenticeship program.

[email protected] SPM apprenticeship is a paid, three-month program offering 40 hours per week of on-the-job training with meaningful contributions to client accounts. It is a pathway to entry-level employment at the agency. While future employment is not guaranteed upon completion, if it’s a good fit on both sides, it’s our goal to extend offers of permanent, full-time employment to our apprentices. 

Applicants should have a strong desire to develop skills in the areas of account service, media relations, influencer campaigns and social media, while contributing to our clients’ successes. SPM apprentices are cross-trained on a variety of accounts and industries, participate in creative brainstorming sessions and learn key skills to launch a career in communications. 

Our wish list for the ideal candidate includes:  

  • Available to work in person in our Dallas office  
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in a communications-related major 
  • At least one prior communications internship, with potential experience in media relations (list building, pitch writing, pitching, monitoring and measurement); influencer campaigns (research and vetting, outreach, contracting, etc.); or social media  (maintaining content calendars, drafting captions, scheduling and posting content, photoshoots, editing
  • Self-motivated thinker who can work with a creative team in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment 
  • Responsive to direction and able to share ideas within a group to help move our clients’ businesses forward 
  • Familiar with AP style and basic Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with PR measurement and media research tools, such as Critical Mention and Muck Rack, is a plus
